FOOD ACCESS
We support grassroots effort to grow and distribute nutritious, locally grown and produced food to community members typically economically marginalized from the local, farm to table food movement. We also grow relationships and host conversations with partners in the food access space.
EQUITY & FOOD ACCESS
Chimacum Center participates in efforts to increase access to nutritionally-rich, locally grown food by:
FARMHOUSE CSA CENTER
Chimacum Center helps to host and organize a farm subscription and CSA pick-up location at the Finnriver Farmhouse in Chimacum to facilitate direct connections between farmers, foodmakers and community members. Contact us at create@chimacumcenter.org if you are an interested farmer or CSA patron.
FARMER CONVERGENCE
We’ve been partnering for several years with Dr. Jasmine Ratliff, Terrence Jackson, and the farmer activists with The Gardens of Tuskegee to host 'Southeast by Northwest’ — an ongoing cross-pollinating conversation between our regions of the country. These conversations address sustainable agriculture, land access, food justice and efforts in our respective communities to grow a more equitable and healthy foodscape. You can read the report from the 2021 convergence on our Land Equity page.
